Inspirations
I received an email from a good friend of mine from college. He recently got engaged and he is going for a new adventure as well, so I just wanted to wish him the best. I told him about what I am doing in next few months and also confessed, only to a good friend, that I was actually scared a little bit. Of course he had a good thing to say. Maybe I am so needy that I needed to hear it. We don't talk that much on the phone, but only email each other once a while. I have always trusted him and versa-versa.
So, my good friend Leif said:
"You are a great person to be able to touch so many peoples lives for the better, and nothing can take that away, only provide you a different way of accomplishing it."
A single sentence made me cry. He is much better person than I am.
He also sent me the link for this video on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji5_MqicxSo
I never watched someone's lecture on computer for 75 minutes before, but I did this time. Computer Science professor giving a lecture about his work, life, and dream. Truly inspirational. Plus the fact that this video was his last lecture since he was dying from cancer. It made me realize why I also become a college professor to begin with. Even though I am not going to be one after June, my heart was dazzled again for what I do for a living. In the short amount of time that I have left, it reminded me that I have to give everything because I owe it to everybody.
I felt inspired again today which is the most beautiful moments in my life time. Thanks, Leif.
